Welcome to my site! Check out all the new weaving projects I’m working on. This crazy ride started a long time ago, when I was interested in weaving. As retirement approached I needed something to keep me away from work.

I bought a small, 15″ Cricket loom and made everyone a scarf! Then I realized that you can only make skinny things with a small loom. In February 2023 I upgraded to a 24″ Ashford loom and now I can make kitchen towels, pillows, placemats, and many other items that I haven’t even discovered yet! I was having a blast!

In February of 2024 I found a 4-shaft table loom for sale for a very good price. It was built in the late 1980s and had never been used! The stars aligned and the seller and I share the same birthday. How cool is that? So I named the loom Faith, after the woman I bought it from. Faith and I explored many new patterns that were hard to do on the rigid heddle loom. Faith is also the loom I take to workshops and classes. Everyone loves her.

In February of 2025 (are you starting to see a birthday pattern?) I came across an 8-shaft Pendleton floor loom being sold by a lovely woman in Des Moines, Washington. (The name is from the builder of the loom, not the woolen mill in Pendleton, OR.) The loom was probably built in the 1970s and she’s been well cared for by Jane, and her family before her. Penny is much larger and more complex than my other looms, and she sits in the entryway of my home because I really don’t have space for such a large loom. We have had great success and a few failures, but lots of learning. Although there are larger and more complex looms out there, this is where I will draw the line…for now.

At times I go back to the simple rigid heddle looms. And I have started sharing my knowledge with new rigid heddle loom weavers. I think it all comes full circle. The simple looms are so much faster to weave on! And it has been very fun to open the minds of other weavers that a small loom has a place in our guild and in our education programs.

I don’t expect to have very many items available at any one time. If you see a pattern you like, but want it in a different color, or as a pillow or table runner, please email me to see if that’s doable. (It probably is!)

Ideas for Your Custom Towel

I have made several different styles of towels over the past few months. You won’t see them in my products because they have been sold. However, I will create a gallery below so that you can see what could be available if you’d like me to make something for you.

I use 100% cotton yarn and it comes in many colors. Some of the colors I use regularly are: natural (off white), wine, orange, fuchsia, peacock blue, navy blue, dark brown, honey (tan), dark green, medium green, yellow-green, light gray, medium gray, dark gray, and black. There are many other colors to choose from, but I might have to order it before I can finish your project.

I tend to make towels with patterns, and avoid mostly white or light colors. I want you to use your towels, not hide them from someone with dirty hands. My very first big towel was called “Wine and Avocado” because that’s what usually gets wiped onto my kitchen towels. Smaller patterns with a bit more color always look good hanging on your oven door.

If you see something you like, email me and we can talk about it. The price is still $30. You just might have to wait a bit longer to receive your towel.

About

I have recently discovered a love of weaving on my rigid heddle loom. That is a small loom where all of the work is done by hand. It is easier to set up, but takes a lot of time to actually weave the cloth. Every item is made with love.

I like to explore all kinds of colors and patterns that can be done on my simple loom. Here I am with my two granddaughters after all of us worked on a towel for Lilly to take home.

Please ignore the mess. We were creating!
